This workshop series is part of a national initiative to encourage and educate cultural heritage institutions to actively work toward applying best practices and standards to managing, preserving and providing access to their digital collections and content. Program faculty members include experienced professionals from the Connecticut State Library, Hartford History Center at Hartford Public Library, Connecticut History Online, and Connecticut Humanities. Participants in this workshop will receive:
Instruction and hands-on training in creating, managing and preserving digital content
Mentors to provide support in effective ways of managing and promoting digital collections
Digitization of up to 5 items, saved to a flash drive provided for each participant
Resource materials and an online manual
Opportunities for collaboration between institutions with similar collections
Access to and support for online digital collection sharing and virtual collections Institutions interested in participating in this 2-part workshop series must complete the application below (mail to the address provided) and an online questionnaire through SurveyMonkey.
