Questions and Answers

What 3 words describe your work?
Creative, fantastic, mustache.
Tell us about your company name.
After expanding our company nationwide, we had to pick a name that was applicable for the entire country (rather than our previous name: Louisville Photographic Booth Co.). We picked Magnolia Photo Booth Company to maintain the vintage photo booth feel and in order to create the booth's amazing AKA: MagBooth!
Why should someone hire you?
Without being too self indulging—We Rock! From our hands on interactions with clients to our ridiculously high photo quality and overall design of our booths, we have the ability to turn any party into one worth talking about! In short, we love what we do and we do it to the very fullest.
What are the common misconceptions about your services?
Aside from people thinking we provide passport photos, many people imagine our company to be an old-fashioned carnie and top-hat-wearing type of company rather than the modern and artistically inclined company that we are.
What drew you to this field/how did you get started?
After designing a completely makeshift booth for a friend's wedding, Peter Tower (the mastermind and driving force behind Magnolia) quickly saw how enamored people became with the booth. Over the past four years, Peter and the entire MagBooth team have worked diligently to make MagBooth what it is today.
What are some sources of inspiration or influences on your work?
Luckily for us, we do not have to look far for inspiration. The diversity within our company allows for free flowing creativity and ideas. However, we are honored to work with so many great wedding professionals, photographers, brides and grooms alike—we never find creativity or inspiration to be a struggle.
Tell us about a favorite, unusual, or most interesting moment at a wedding:
It never fails to be an unforgettable moment when we can watch our booth bring both sides of the wedding party and families together. Watching grandmas and grandpas come together, throw on some silly wigs and glasses and walk out hugging each other is always priceless.
What makes a wedding memorable for you?
While every wedding has some unforgettable aspect, whether it be the master design, the impeccable flow, the delicious cake or the unpredictable weather, it is undoubtedly the couple and the guests themselves that make weddings unforgettable for us. It is not uncommon for us to develop a friendship with many of our brides and grooms and later find ourselves at their dinner parties and small get together even years after they have said their "I do's."
What have weddings taught you?
That aside from all of the pretty decorations and flowers, when it comes to weddings, love is ultimately the most important aspect. When you get to share such a monumental day with two people you may be meeting in person for the first time, it is amazing to see what an incredible force love can be.
What is the best advice you give to a couple when planning their wedding?
Slow down and really try to be there. Don't get caught up in the timeline or the cameras—just be there…and rent a MagBooth!
If you could have any superpower on the job, what would it be?
Funny you ask—I wear a cape everyday! My superpower is the ability to help the bride and groom step into the booth and completely let go and enjoy themselves.
What 3 words describe your personality?
I heart Magbooths.
What is your favorite book/movie/work of art?
Book: Killing Yourself to Live
Movie: home movies
Work of Art: my nephew's scribbles
What is your favorite quote?
Dance like it's your last day on earth.
Extracurricular activities:
While it is so easy to get caught up in your job, it is so crucial to have other activities. That is why here at MagBooth we have weekly pushup competitions, tennis tournaments, surf sessions, art parties and kickball tournaments.
If you weren't in your current profession what would do instead?
I'd be the drummer for some phenomenal band, traveling the world and begging Peter Tower to give me a job with Magnolia Photo Booth Company.
What's your favorite way to wind down after a hard day?
My favorite way to wind down is to go to yoga after work and then come home, turn on the fireplace and listen to how much my boyfriend loves me. Haha. How could you go wrong with that?
What are some of your favorite places to eat—either everyday spots or special occasion splurges?
My favorite place to eat is anywhere my mom is cooking—she is the best cook and I would match her food to any professional chef any day.
What do you like the most about your job?
Everything—I honestly love my job. The people in the company are amazing, funny and always supportive. I strongly believe that I have the best job in the world. I would wake up every morning and hug my job if I could!
