A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

The 150 year-old mansion at the heart of Silverado Resort and Spa has been welcoming guests to this picturesque corner of the Napa Valley since the 1870s. As you drive down the long, private entrance road lined with magnolia and palm trees, it’s easy to feel transported to another time and place—one with a seamless blend of classic Southern hospitality and casual California charm. This iconic landmark is so quintessentially “Napa.”

Among the resort’s acres of beautiful scenery, are several options for your ceremony. The most popular is The Grove, an outdoor venue at the center of the South Golf Course that’s surrounded by majestic, ancient oaks and flowering gardens. A grassy aisle leads to a soaring natural arch formed by tree branches, and Milliken Creek babbles gently in the background. After exchanging vows, you’ll dine and dance under the stars in a romantic brick courtyard strung with market lights.

The Arbor offers another al fresco ceremony location, with an elevated path curving down to a secluded sunken courtyard encircled by rose bushes and trailing vines. From here, invite your guests to a reception in your choice of three indoor spaces. A third fabulous spot to say “I do” is the Mansion Gardens, which feature an enormous seasonal pavilion, stage, and small vineyard. Get married next to the vines, followed by cocktails on the Fairway Deck, a hardwood terrace shaded by a white canopy tent. It connects through French doors to the Grand Ballroom, a classically lovely space for your reception.

If you have a totally indoor affair in mind, opt for the Grand Ballroom and Fairway Deck in combination. Together, they can host your entire celebration, complete with crystal chandeliers, plush carpeting, and a view of the golf course and the sunset over the Vaca Mountain Range.

More intimate weddings can be held in the stylish Royal Oak and Vintners’ Court rooms. They have floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the grounds; artful, modern Wine Country-inspired décor; and access to the airy Terrace. A recently remodeled annex provides a selection of conference-style rooms that may be used as day-of prep areas for the wedding couple, or rented for a luncheon or day-after brunch.

There are over 370 guest accommodations at Silverado, ranging from hotel-style rooms and 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites to “homestyle” cottages large enough for a family. The on-site Silverado Market & Bakery lets guests stock up on wine and snacks from beloved local artisans, while The Grill serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner focusing on sustainable, farm-to-fork fare. And with two PGA golf courses, an incredible world-class spa with full salon services, hiking and biking trails nearby, 10 swimming pools, 10 tennis courts, bocce ball, and countless wineries to tour, you and your guests will have no trouble finding activities to create the perfect Napa Valley weekend.
