A Here Comes The Guide Wedding Venue Review

It may seem like the impossible dream to find everything you're looking for in one location—charming coastal community, acres of lush, manicured grounds and a backdrop of the blue Pacific Ocean—but all that and more is waiting for you at The Crossings at Carlsbad.

Perched atop a hillside road just a mile from the beach, this upscale golf club occupies an amazing vantage with views of rolling fairways, sunsets over the horizon, and rugged canyons. The 28,000-square-foot clubhouse incorporates natural materials like stone and wood with lots of glass to showcase the surrounding landscape. Inside the lobby, you'll find comfy, rustic-style leather seating and modern, cylindrical chandeliers.

If you're having your ceremony here, and most couples do, your guests will gather on the Ceremony Lawn, a wide swath of grass framed by feathery trees and shrubbery. Feel the cool sea breezes as you exchange vows against a panorama of the ocean below.

Then it's time to celebrate with a glass of bubbly on the adjacent terrace or upstairs on the wraparound Canyons Patio where, along with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, you can drink in the peaceful vistas. Needless to say, the beautiful surroundings offer up lots of great photo ops, from romantic duets at the rock waterfalls, a charming bridge or a verdant knoll … to group shots in front of the very photogenic arched iron gates of the clubhouse.

The Canyons Restaurant, the setting for your main reception, is equally striking. This soaring space features floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed, trestle beams sporting iron rivets for a casually elegant ambiance. There's a long, polished wood bar with black granite top and a large dance floor in front of it. A tall, stacked stone fireplace at one end can be a great focal point for an indoor ceremony, a rehearsal dinner or other intimate event. And of course, wherever you're seated, you'll enjoy a direct sightline to those glorious exteriors.

Their executive chef uses his extensive global experience to lead a topnotch culinary team in creating mouthwatering fare, both casual and gourmet. You can choose from a wide array of menus and complete packages—or even opt to bring in your own caterer, especially for ethnic dishes.

The entire staff offers personalized service, helping you from start to finish so that you can actually relax and enjoy your own event. Whether you'd like a golf tournament, rehearsal dinner, late-night party on the Player's Lounge Patio or overnight accommodations at a local hotel, they're happy to arrange it. They can even help organize a show-stopping entrance via helicopter from nearby Palomar Airport. Oh, and by the way, did we mention that their attention to detail not only takes the cake—it includes a totally customized one!
